Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data The Baliners, a licensed real estate agency in Bali, collects through this website, why, how long it is kept, who else can see it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to answer you and to run the website, and we process it in line with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, including Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection.

• Inquiries: when you send an inquiry, request a viewing, or ask for a free evaluation on the Sell page: your name, the contact details you give (phone, WhatsApp or email), your message, the property you ask about, and an appointment time if you choose one.
• Website analytics: our own analytics record which page was opened and which property was viewed, with the time. They do not record your name, your messages, or anything that identifies you, and no outside analytics service is used.
• Favorites: the properties you save with the heart are kept in your own browser on your device. They are not sent to us unless you share them.
• Shared links: when you share your favorites or a map, the link keeps the properties or the map view you shared, with the IP address and the device (browser) of the person who created it. When a shared link is opened, we count the visit and note the viewer's IP address and, from it, the country, so the agency can see how often and from where a link was viewed.
• The assistant: the chat with our assistant is kept in your browser for 24 hours after your last question, and you can clear it at any time with the reset button. Your questions are sent to our server and to the AI service that writes the answers. We keep no record of who asked what; an answer may be remembered, without anything that identifies you, so that the same question can be answered faster.
• Technical data: like any website, our server receives your IP address and browser details with each request; they are used to deliver the page, to keep the website secure and to limit abuse (for example how many messages can be sent in a minute), and these short-lived limits expire on their own.

We do not ask for identity card or passport numbers, bank or card details, or any other sensitive data on this website. Please do not send them in a message.

• To answer you: to reply to your inquiry, arrange viewings, and help you buy, lease or sell a property.
• To run the website: to show properties, keep your favorites and shared links working, and answer questions in the chat.
• To improve it: to understand, in total, which pages and properties are viewed most.
• To keep it safe: to prevent spam, abuse and attacks, and to meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with other agencies. It is shared only as described in the next section or when the law requires it.

• Our team: the The Baliners staff who follow up your inquiry.
• Owners and notaries: with your agreement, the details needed to arrange a viewing or a transaction may be passed to the property's owner or developer, or to a notary (PPAT).
• The AI service: the questions you type in the chat are processed by an AI service to write the answers.
• Maps and videos: the map is drawn from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when map tiles load. Property videos play from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) or Vimeo when you start them, and the Google Maps directions open only when you choose them.
• Country lookup: the country of a shared link's viewer is looked up from their IP address with the ipwho.is service.
• Authorities: when we are required to by law or by a lawful request.

This website uses no advertising or tracking cookies. One small cookie remembers whether you chose the light or the dark theme, and your browser's own storage keeps your favorites, your chat, and a few display preferences on your device. Clearing your browser's data removes them. Staff who sign in to manage the website use a sign-in cookie that visitors never receive.

The website runs on our own servers over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and the database is reachable only by the website itself. Only The Baliners staff with the right permissions can see inquiries, and every change they make is recorded. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data.

• Inquiries: kept while we follow up your request and for as long as our business and legal records need them, then deleted.
• Shared links: deleted automatically when nobody has opened them for a year, together with their visit records.
• The chat: cleared from your browser 24 hours after your last question, or at once when you reset it.
• Favorites: stay in your browser until you remove them or clear your browser's data.

You may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and you may withdraw a consent you gave. Send your request to the contact details below. We verify that the request comes from you and answer within the time the law requires; some data may have to be kept where the law obliges us to.

This website is meant for adults looking to buy, lease or sell property. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; contact us and we will delete it.

We may change this policy at any time. Every change applies automatically as soon as it is published on this page, without prior notice, and by continuing to use the website you agree to the policy as it then stands. Please check this page from time to time.
